In my infancy, my Mother wrote me a love letter;
"Dearest Little Heidi, you're so easy to get along with and you radiate love. You try so hard to communicate. You always listen, smile and answer back. Oh my sweet Heidi, you're a beautiful girl, kind and gentle - a lover of people."
Through re-visiting this letter, my sense of purpose is deepened upon realization that photography is the nature of my intimacy. When I invite people to sit for my camera, communication and connection is a matter of art.
Without immediate sight, I've developed vision. Because analog cameras don't have immediate access of the images taken, I must pay attention to how light falls before I compose the photograph. I love that using film encourages me to slow down and that my subjects help me to live in the moment.
I see you as whole.
